The land was part of the Florence Chianti League, defensive safeguard against Siena, the historical enemy. The three most common villages in the north, Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti constituted the three neighbourhoods of this old alliance. This is well expressed in the past fortified castles that have been converted into wineries dominating the rich vineyards form which comes one of the best quality products of our land, Chianti Classico DOCG. The Chianti area was also one of the place of the ancient Etruscans.
In this tour I’ve selected for you authentic places far from mass tourism. We will enjoy a good glass of wine in one of the many cellars, we will visit a castle, we will walk through the vineyards and we will find out all about this wonderful part of Tuscany!
The tasting in the cellar and the ticket to visit the castle are not included in the price.
