DISCOVERING THE PALIO HORSE RACE AND THE CONTRADE

Siena is very unique for its social structure as it is divided into 17 neighborhoods called contrade with their own social government, private church, social club ad museum. Twice a year these contrade compete with each other in the Palio horse race, that takes place in the main square and is taken very seriously. During this tour we will discover all about the contrade and the Palio.
In the presence people with ambulation difficulties, the sections of the route having the biggest difference in level, will be avoided.
Because of organizational reasons, visiting a Contrada Museum requires a reservation.
